Some songs just seem like they were made for each other.

Every time, and I mean every time, I hear “A Forest” by The Cure, I think of how amazingly it would mash up with “The Voice” by The Moody Blues. They’re somehow a perfect compliment to each other in my head. Maybe this is just me, but I can’t shake it. In the instrumental first 50 seconds of “A Forest” I always start singing “The Voice” to myself.

I discovered another pair today: “Dance, Dance, Dance” by Lykke Li and “Song for You” by Alexi Murdoch. I can’t hear the former now without thinking of the latter.

It’s quite possible that I have some bizarre sense of harmony that no one else would pick up on or agree with. But I find these imaginary mashups really interesting.

  1. nice new format - it makes me feel like the winter will end soon.
I want to hear your mash-ups (?), my first choice would be if your were to sing them but I would settle for you as the dj and I love that your brain amuses itself in such a way.

  2. Whenever I hear the chorus of Rolling in the Deep by Adele I think someone should sub in the words to Barbie Girl by Aqua. (I’m a Barbie giiiii-ii-iirl, in my Barbie wooo-ooo-oorld…). It works in my head.

Please, be nice!

This is not a trick question. We’re just trying to separate the humans from the spambots.
